Researching Detonation

I did a search on Google for engine detonation and variations on that theme, and didnot come up with anything that covered what I was looking for. Can one of you please point me toward good material which covers the effects of detonation on an engine. I'm well aware of how it happens, perhaps all too well aware. I now need to figure out what happens when an engine detonates. So, thanks in advance for any resources you can point me toward.

Well, for starters, it might be better defined as pre-ignition detonation, assuming ignition is what occurs when the sparkpug discharges.

Might try to search under engine knock.
