I dont know if it helps but, you might want to check out - The History Channel - web site, or TV. They do a history of different car manufactures. One they did it on was Nissan. It had a complete history of the company, their cars including the 240 and all the Zs up to the fairlady- 300zx. You can buy this tape from them for like 20 bucks. If you wana do this paper on any other companys... God Forbid... They also have one on Chevy, Honda, Ford, Ferrari. I know they have more I just cant remember any more. One more suggestion You might wana do it on the Chevy 350 engine. Not because its any better than a Nissan engine, it just has a lot of info on it. It could be easier. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Thanks Sabrina and Maine - I got both your mails.

Brini, I've been off on a 4-day weekend so I haven't had lots of time to respond (sorry). I think if you'll re-read my post from the 14th, you'll get some pretty good ideas. My bachelors degree (well one of them) is in Psych... A discussion of the group mentality as evidenced here in NICO would be a great paper...

Talk about the "heirarchy of power" from the site founder/owner, to the web developer, down thru the administrators and mods down to the members. Talk about the personalities (perceived) of some of the members. Some of the difficulties of maintaining order in a "society" that doesn't exist... (you could go on for PAGES here). Talk about the need for control (moderator duties), the desire to "belong" to something bigger than one's self and the need to connect with other people with similar experiences. Talk about what happens when someone violates a rule or behaves in a manner contrary to the "perception" of what that person is really like. Talk about the sense of "loss" we feel when a member leaves, and the sense of "satisfaction" or "affirmation" we get when someone praises our work (or writing or our car or our opinions).

Take your time, I'm sure you'll get tons of help. This could develop into a research thesis for a graduate program if you do a good job...

Take care Sabrina.

Okay that helps out alot there.. thanks...Yeah I have re-read couple on here trying to establish a starting point and taking what I was told in my English class how to start off by using very broad explanations and then just zero in on what its all about. My mom like how mom's are was like "why stay from friday to sunday for the meet when all your doing is meeting for couple hours watching them race and go home"......which some of my friends just dont think too much of car meets and such so I'm leaning to that and give details that its something fun to see and all. One thing can be not interesting to some but yet the others might think way more about it and how great they think it is.

Soo I'm debating on a subject still. I'm finding some links to read about and see what all it says on somethings and try to make it sound worth while about. I've bugged my mom about this meet and fun I will have and yet she sort of dont see a point and neither does my friends so I'm looked upon like I'm crazy one of them....soo maybe some info from a paper would make them see my view on it and why alot of people enjoy stuff like that. :D

AZhitman's laid out a nice paper for ya. The paper he suggests seems very intricate while still maintaining focus. It's the only suggestion so far that really, directly ties cars to a psychology class.

BTW, I feel your pain. I just wrapped up a 30-page paper for my film class. Gotta love college!

Hey Sabrina, depending on how your paper works with Nico, we could maybe even put it up on our articles section off the home page. Hmmm

I had a paper due once. It was supposed to be 35 pages long. I turned it in a week late, was only 27 pages. I thought I would have done bad on it, but I did so good the prof. gave me an A+ on it, and let me skip the final, AND gave me an A in the class. Just cuz of that one paper. Apparently I was the only person who came even remotely close to 35 pages, and I also had the "best paper her had ever graded." Ok, so enough bragging....It just makes me feel good ;)

LOL - Thanks Torry. I did do a LITTLE writing (for girlfriends OR for supplemental income) in college - probably 30 papers in 6 years that I never got credit for...

I did work on something that got published, but I won't bore you with the subject matter... Let's just say it was regarding the structured clinical interview instrument for the assessment and diagnosis of dissociative disorder.... Boooooo-ring!

Love to see stories like your 27-page A+... As you've found, being a good writer opens so many doors - it's a shame that it's not more heavily emphasized.

I've done papers in highschool over: Babe Ruth, got low grade but year later done the paper again for differ class same teacher; Cherokee; French and Indian War; World War 1 or 11.....hmmm...Sleep Apnea (for college english class); Ernest Hemingway; JRR Tolkien for drama class and on my cover I had drawn the symbol, free hand no trace, got an A on that. When I get bored I draw really good sometimes. I put extra effort in drawing pics for school work.

In my science class we had to draw pics from book and I go extra mile and made them exactly like it with color and text boxes hand drawn neatly. I think I kept those drawings just to look back at them. :D I can brag that I was only one in my English class award that got a Certificate of Appreciaton award. I've gotten certificate of achievement and honor. :D okay i wont say no more.

For me, 30 page papers are peanuts. I'm currently working on a 70+ page analysis of 2001: A Space Odyssey and A.I.

I'm a third year EE and Biotech double-major at UMass. By next year, I'm looking to transfer and become a film student at either Emerson or move to Vancouver.

If it's not a problem, you wouldn't mind scanning some of your artwork so we can take a peek, now wouldja? I do some doodling of my own, mostly manga-style or occassionally, something marvel-esque.

By the way, how old mightcha be? *wink wink* :icesangel

I'm 19....well my major I'm working on for now is Office Technology Management. Its only a 2 year applied science degree but see I want to keep my VA money as long as I can soo I'm looking at another 2year degree....I've considered architect/design, or someting in computer graphics like designing models of whatever cars, houses, etc on computer...seems interesting. I'm at Volunteer State Community College but I need to transfer b/c they dont offer the rest of my business classes (not Volstate in Gallatin,TN the one in Livingston,TN, long drive). I am going to apply at Nashville State Tech Community College, we have an annex of it up here now which is great. When I get some free time I'm going to check them out and get like paper on what degrees they offer. If not then sometime in my 2nd year I'm going to be transfering somewhere to get the degree I want. I'm registered now for 14hours a week.

I do have some of my drawings scanned but I still dont get how to attach even a pic on here. I've read about it how you do that but I still dont get it. :pface I've never attach a pic or anything on here soo I'm not sure. :D lol
