Heres what it looks like since I brushed it up a bit.
Tell me what you guys think now...
Henry Swasey Mr. McCormick English III February 9, 2005 Freedom: Capturing the way we think in both everyday life and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn The thought of being free is significant in that it helps the person escape injustices that are being inflicted upon them. Being free is important in life and in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because freedom helps people cope with the world around them. Someway, somehow, everyone finds that bit of freedom they’ve been searching for Not long ago I was at the local track escaping what had happened to me. I had recently gotten into a squabble with my mother and I was feeling very irate. Ever since I was a toddler, up until now, my life has been filled with thoughts and experiences with cars. Just driving a car on the open road is freedom for me. After my mom was done with her incessant rambling, I called up my friend to see what was going down that night; thirty minutes later I was inhaling the intoxicating scent of burnt rubber. It wasn't more than five minutes later till I was in the driver seat. It was my turn next, my heart was racing, and my adrenaline was pumping. Like my mom released her anger on me, it was my turn to release my anger on the track. It was my turn to be free. Much like I find freedom on the open road, Huck discovers his freedom on the open waters of the Mississippi River. The night Pap started hollering, Huck decided he Swasey, pg. 2 wouldn't suffer anymore, so he "unlocked the door and cleared out up the river bank" (Twain ). The first place Huck thought of going was straight up the river to escape his father. Later, Huck is roving the Mississippi River with an absconding slave named Jim. Jim is going up north so that he may escape the injustices of slavery. One night, they were feeling "solemn" so they got the boat "out to the middle, we let her out to about...lit the pipes and dangled our legs in the water..." (Twain ). Huck and Jim had found their freedom on the river. A person is captured by the thought or pleasure of being free. Everyone has their own little outlet, for me, it's the elation of being on the open road blasting through the gears so that I may leave the world behind for a few brief moments, for Huck Finn it's being on the open river being naked and smoking a pipe. By Huck being on the river, it helps to extricate himself from the hardships that are continuing on land, like his father. For Jim, it’s the dark world of slavery. Freedom is that little enjoyment in life that everyone has so that they may breathe easier and forget the problems they may have.
And Rex, what "other gf" do you mean? My gf checks these boards everyday ( I got her into NICO) so she might wonder as well.
