Resale value after accident

My car was in what appears to be a minor accident. I was rear ended, the car which is 17 months old with 16,000 miles on it suffered close to $4,000 in damage. Damage was confined to the bumper, hatch and left/right rear panels the force of the impact broke the drivers seat so a new one was installed. I'm now wondering what impact this might have on it's resale value. Should I have the sudden urge to trade it in or sell it tomorrow for another car. I expect because of this incident my vehicle is now worth less than it would have been had it not been in an accident even if the repairs bring it back to exactly how it was before the accident.

Thoughts suggestions or comments are most welcome. My car is the base S model 2009 6 speed manual with a CD/Player and the hatch and that's really it no power options unfortunately.
