I am going to get some tint put on next weekend and I wanted to do a little comparison. If you have some pix to post, that would be great and all years are welcome

I'm at 20% and don't think I would go any darker. It is perfect day and night. I must say it surely helped the inside heat from the sun.

Looks sharp !!

Here's 10%.

The perfect blend of 5% and 20%.

Not so dark that you can't see out at night, but dark enough for the added privacy and heat resistance that you don't get with 20%.

I like 15%.

5%/10% I've found is dangerous at night. Hard to see out the side/back.

10% looks good, but it seems like it would be pretty difficult to see at night

It looks a lot darker than it seems.

I had 5% on my truck and it was impossible to see.

10% is perfect.

15%-20% you can see inside with no problem.

You mean see inside from looking in on the outside or while you're inside the car looking out?

During the day you can see out no problem. At night with 5% is near impossible to see out, and 10% it's difficult to see out.

However, 5% can't see in until it fades, 10% you have to be really close (like up to the glass), 15% can see in depending on lighting, 20% is too light really, can see through all the time.

I've had 5% and 10%, and I decided it isn't worth it because someone can always see in your windshield unless you're dumb enough to tint it. When I did 5% I was trying to hide custom interior (exposed stereo equipment). I did tint the windshield, but I removed it due to tickets.

I have have 5% but with a tint meter it reads out 2%. The visibility may also depend on the company you get it from. Cheap 5% tint will be so dark that you cant see the car next to and will fade fairly quickly. My tint, even at 2% you can see out but no one can see in even if you put your face up to it, it actually looks crystal clear from inside. I have a tint meter if any one is in the Miami area and wants to check thier tints.

The other issue with 20% is that it is so light, that it doesn't blend well with the black door pillar.

Yeah, I had 20% before and you could still see in during the day and my options are a 5% that looks more like a 10% which is what the guy said at the shop, or a 15%

How do you guys avoid getting harassed by the cops at these percentages? In the NY, NJ, and PA area the limit is 70% so tinting is somewhat useless.

The problem with that is that the rear windows don't go all the way down.

It would not matter any way if you rolled your windows down because they will tell you to roll them up so they can check em'. If they have an eye on you its already to late to roll down windows..

Every car I've had for the last 10 years have had 5% - 15% tint.

I have been pulled over alot.

I have never been ticketed. Especially when I lived in Miami, where every other car has illegal tint.

The back window and rear windows can have any tint you want.

In Florida, you can only be ticketed for the front windows and windsheild.
