Anyone have #'s on MPG for Hybrid & AWD Rogues from the 2017.5 & 2018 years?

This will be my car for a bit, and then will pass down to my kid (skiier) who needs the AWD and we'd like to get out of some of the CALIF high gas prices.. That's why we're looking at the Hybrid.

MY next car will be a PHEV, as the house has solar and as the kids slowly fly the coop, we have excess generation that we can' put into a "gas tank" instead of selling back to the utility company. That way we SAVE THOUSANDS instead of MAKING HUNDREDS. There are no good PHEV/AWD SUV's out right now, but I figure when said kid takes THIS car off my hands, (in a couple of years) there will be more PHEV competition/choices for me.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!! Ready to pull the trigger on a HYBRID AWD ROGUE (2018) but wanted to get more info from real world users. We are not in a cold climate, FWIW. Trips to snow are TRIPS, we don't live in ski-ville.

Dont buy a hybrid Rogue to save money. I found the savings on gas for a hybrid (Toyota Camry hybrid), was not worth it, unless gas would go to prices found in much of Europe, which is the equivilant of about 7 dollars a gallon. You would have to have the hybrid serviced at the dealer (usually more costly), and, if you dont like the hybrid, and sell or trade it in, you are unlikely to recover the additional money you paid for the hybrid..some hybrids sell below the cost of "non hybrids" even tho they cost more to buy, because the hybrid market is much smaller than the regular market. You have to find a buyer who wants the technology and it willing to take a chance on it breaking down as soon as the warranty expires.

Agreed.

Unless you're already set up for recharging, it's a false economy. The added cost of the hybrid, divided by the cost of a gallon of gas, will tell you how many miles you'll have to drive to break even.

I have solar as well, we generate loads more than we use, and I'd still never own a plugin hybrid. It's simply not worth the added cost and complexity.

Speaking of gas. Just paid $1.99 a gal.

Now if gas was like $4-5 like back in 2008.

$5-6 around Cali & Florida.

Well yah.

When I grew up as a teen driver.

Gas was like 89 cents.

I’m an old fart.

Now the tax on a gallon of gas is .89 cents or so depending on which state you’re in.
