Does anybody have any experience or comments concerning reprogramming 350Z ECU? Is it worth the money? How much hp gain on average? Is it safe for the vehicle? I'm having some modifications done and the shop mentioned Cobbtuning AccessPORT for the ECU. THanks.

I know nothing about a 350 programmer but I used one for both a Vette and a Stang I used to have. I had nothing but problems with both programmers. Pinging, check engine light, etc. and very little performance gain. Plus if you have to take the cars engine in for diagnoses, you must first down load back to stock and then re-program when you get the car back (hassle). Maybe the Z unit is better but I will never screw with the computer again.

My experience with Technosquare:I had an '05 Altima SER, 6sp, before the Z. My only mods were WAI intake and cat-back exhaust. I removed the ECU and sent it to Technosquare for their re-flash. The cost was about $500.00. This was my "best bang for the buck mod".

Throttle response was very crisp and over-all engine performance felt much improved. I don't how much improvement someone may feel with no mods, but the re-flash seemed to bring out the best of the intake and cat-back. Everything they say the re-flash does seemed to live up to their promise.

Technosquare is the best for reflashes. I had it done on my 05 Z and I am waiting for them to finish the 07 so I can get this car done as well.

Try UpRev.com No need to take ecu out and send, just plug into OBD2 plug and upload.

I dont think the AccessPORT is compatible with the Z. I know itworks with Evo's (only??). I also read that Technosquare is the best option but is less effective after you start to get a lot ofengine modification beyond CAI and Exhaust.

The gain will depend on what you have done to the car. If it's turboed obviously you will get a bigger gai with a ecu reprogram. Most of the time the gain is minimal and it usually increases the redline.
