It is usually done for octane reset. For example if you were to run 93 then all of a sudden switch to 87 it would mess it up for a bit until the ecu relearns. A lot of cars do a check after so many mins of operation or after so many miles. I dont think it can learn anything from just letting the car idle though as mods such as a 3" exhaust and intake do nothing while idling.qwade25 wrote:I found this article on a website.
