Whats up guys! I just came from reading through my dad's old post on here about my 240's fate. Reading this thread has been quite an experience. It reminded me of my state way back in december and showed me how cool my dad actually is. Unfortuatly for the two of us we have had a lot of friction in general lately, over grades, and well... life. Reading that old thread made me realize that my dad just wants to do stuff with me, and be a cool dad. Im thankful for this and everything that he has done for me. Im also very thankful for those of you who said to give me another chance. Even though you dont know who I am you still had faith in me to never do something stupid like that again. And I still havent. For those six weeks that I had my car back on the road I never sped, nor did I attempt any "drifts." Thanks to you guys who said that I should have another chance Im now working on my car every spare instant, and enjoying seeing the progress of our project car. I sincerely believe that I have learned my lesson about the value of my 240 and the faith that you 240 drivers and my dad had in me. Out of thankfulness and rememberance of all of you I will continue to hold my car in the highest reguard, letting no one, not my stupid friends, or my own lust for fun even tempt me into reckless driving agian. This car has too much to live for now (all those awesome bay area 240 meets :D. I dont know if my dad has posted the current info on the project car, but if not here is what we have done/ordered:

Currently Done/Installed:All new eibach sportlinesKYB AGX shocksSome whiteline bushings (tension rod bushings still waiting to be pressed)KA DOHC (from sohc)Pace setter header (powercoated black)Unorthodox Underdrive pullyAlpine head Unit (nice one)Boston/Infinity speakers5-speed manual conversionMalfuntioning rear-windsheild wiper (I fixed it all by myself!!!! :D so proud!)All new brakes and brembo rotorsSteering end thingies

Waiting/OrderedPolished Valve CoverPolished ManifoldB&M Short-ThrowDual N1The LAST VOLK AV3

Thats about it guys. I have shed blood (literally, brake lines are hard to bleed when you already removed the caliper) and sweat over this car. A combined amount of like 20 days accumulated over spring break, and christmas break working on this car and the other part car. All in all a great experience that I am so thankful to have been able to have. Just as a side note, I hope no one ever thinks that Im spoiled or somthing. Not wanting to downplay all that my dad has done for me or anything, but when we've gone to get stuff for the car, he has more often then not, done it without even mentioning it to me. Which is really cool cause then he's like, "oh and btw I got all new bushings for the car" or "yeah i jumped in on a group buy for a B&M short throw for ya" at which point my mouth drops and Im all like "wha??" he just sits there with like a big grin on his face. So yeah, Im not really spoiled, I have never really gone up to my dad asking for parts or modifications, and when I have I have always been told to save up, which is good. I wouldnt want to be spoiled. Like my dad said, he didnt really have a childhood, or a teenager hood thing... so I guess he's just having one through me, which is ok! But yeah, enough said. Im off to the technical forums! TTYL ALL LATER!!!

You seem like a really cool kid. At least you're having better times with your pops than I am. And yeah man, your dad is up there in my book.

lol I admit i have a very small amount of posts, but thats just cause for the majority of that year I was mostly having my dad, flyfishz do the posting for the both of us. But I hope to get more involved to be able to see what goes on here that I dont get the chance to see through him.

yeah bro, the one thing that i can recommend, is doing LOTS of wrenching on your own car...cuz it always pays off to know what is what under the hood when yo'ure broken down on the side of the road...take it from me...i know :(

heh, i'd love to tell my stories of i/c piping coming off and not knowing exactly what it was (i had the swap done for me at a shop)...i had to do alot of reading up on my car before i figured out that it was a very simple deal to put the piping back on...heh, i thoguht it was dangerous :(

awesome.

you seem like a humble kid and it's cool you're not one of those dorks who "hates" their dad because he didn't let them get the cereal they wanted when they were 6 or some crap like that...

don't be a stranger here.

I love my dad, although we do have our differences, and plenty of them. (Most of the time they end up in my leaving in an angry rage w/tires squealing from the house though)

Xns,

I remember the thread you're talking about. I was probally one of the pricks that said sale your ride (to me) and make you take the bus. :D

Anyway, you are lucky to have a dad that is interested in doign stuff with you. I know it is hard when you are young to try and get along with your parents. Enjoy the time you have with them.
