replica c-mod grille

how hard would it be to cut out the honey-comb section of the front grille and replace it with black mesh, like the c-mod grille? i'm trying to find different ways to achieve the same look, because paying that kind of price for a front grille seems a little high too me. but yeah.. thanks for any help.

I plan on doing the same thing, its not going to be as easy as you think. Im probably going to undertake it over the summer since I have two OEM full grilles.

Cutting the honeycomb is going to leave a lot of edges with different thicknesses and widths front to back. If you pop off the OEM one and take a good look at it you will see what I mean. There isnt a clean line that you could cut all the way around and make it look right. No matter what you do, you will have to fiberglass/Bondo a good portion around the cut area, which is what Im going to do.
