Unfortunately, my writeup that I did had a bunch of pictures but ive lost them all!!! . However I have my backup and I'll load them onto the website tonight and redo the article...
Basically what your going to be doing is you take the brake caliper off. unbolt the 2 bolts holding it onto the hub. once you have the caliper off, you can then take the rotor off. This will leave the hub exposed....
Get an extra lug nut (i wouldnt recommend using one off the car because youll probably ruin it) and a really big hammer.... This is the FUN part. Put the lugnut on the end and then bang on it. You'll have to hit it pretty hard a couple of times... You dont have to swing super hard.. Youll feel it start to give and then you hit it loose... It will pop out of the hole. Remove the lugnut and you can slide it out...
Slide the new one in and get it in there as best you can.... What I like to do then is once youve got it in the hole as best you can (you wont get it in there very far) put the rotor back on and then put a lugnut on there and tighten it as tight as you can get it.. All you want to do is bring the stud into the hub as much as possible...
Then, put the caliper and the wheel back on and torque the lugnuts how theyre supposed to be. drive as normal and check the torque again after a while (the stud will settle a tiny bit more)....
I really enjoy doing this job because I get to use a really big hammer and pound something really hard and its actually doing good (IE not being used as the "hammer saw")
