I have recently come to possess a 4cyl Base 1987 D21 that has been neglected for a long time and has taken quite a bit of abuse from the elements. The weatherstripping around the entire vehicle is shriveled, cracked and brittle, and is in dire need of replacing.

The problem I have is that I can't seem to find anyone that makes an exact replacement for the profile of weatherstripping on the rear windshield. Has anyone here needed to replace this part on their truck? If so, where did you go to get the rubber?

I live in south Florida so it has rained just about every day here, and I have to constantly soak up all the water that has leaked into the cabin!

Just a side note, I don't particularly care about having an exact OE replacement part. I just want the water to stop coming in!

Hi. Have you checked with any glass shops? --a lot of the time they have universal weatherstrip that will do the job for a reasonable price. Also try JC Penney because they also carry a bunch of different weatherstrip profiles. You might also check SoftSeal or any other rubber manufacturer. Last but not least check the dealer (just in case!) and local auto wreckers for a used weatherstrip from a truck parked in the shade and still in good shape. Good luck with your truck!
