Replacing water pump help

Long story short i'm trying to replace the water pump. and made a BIG mistake.

While trying to loosen the tension on the timing chain the little plastic piece broke off and fell into the timing chain case.is there an easier way to find it besides taking all the pulleys off and the timing chain casing?

its the plastic thingy that goes in the opening of the middle pocket on the tensioner as pictured below. Not even sure if I can buy this.

I doubt it. I think you have to take off the entire timing chain cover. If it was metal you might be able to use a magnetic thing...but that would be hard. Either way, good luck.

Maybe the Techs will have some insight on this??

I'm going to try to remove the pan on the bottom and hope it fel in there :-) if there are any other suggestions I welcome them.

Removing the belts is very straight forward and easy. Removing the front timing cover shouldn't be much of a problem.
