Yea return it and get the OEM one new or used from a junk yard, Trust me.

Look in the service manual to install it: http://Nicoclub.com/FSM/J30

The one I bought from Pep boys came in a different brand box than OEM, but when I took it out of the box it was the OEM brand Hitachi with the exact same part # on it as the factory part. It was @$56.00 for me at Pep Boys. Good luck!

The TPS is attached to the side of the driver's side throttle body (soft aluminum) by two SMALL screws.

It, along with a number of other ECM inputs, determines idle speed and transmission shift points. Rotate it too far one way and the idle speed will be low, the transmission will shift too early, the OD lock-up may at hunt at freeway speeds, cruising rpms will be high and freeway gas mileage will suffer.

Go too far the other way and engine rpms at idle will be high and shifts will be very abrupt.

After installing it you'll need to adjust the output voltage with the engine fully warmed up and idling to between 0.40 and 0.45 VDC. I've posted a photo a couple of times of one connector leading to it with a strand of copper wire inserted into the backside of the connector for purposes of measuring the output voltage. Try using the search feature.

After setting the voltage using a digital multimeter and with the engine still running, you need to momentarily unplug the connector (the engine should stumble a bit) and then plug it back in so that the new output voltage is registered in the ECM.

You supply the copper wire You insert it into the connector to test the voltage.

lol i feel like a dee dee right now. haha. Well i was looking at the tps and the moron who owned the car before me didnt have a bolt in the bottom of the tps so i think i'll test this one and see if it works because my thoughts are one bolt= movement while driving causing my problem.

Bet that's all it is ..Just a slight rotation will make a big difference.Replace the bolt and then check the voltage and adjust accordingly.Mines dead on 0.45

Haven't given it another try just yet and nothing definitive in terms of help from Jason. Maybe this weekend. Sure wish they hadn't coated the circuit board with so much black stuff and it's encouraging to hear that yours is working so well.

Just place the wire like GerryO posted and measure between it and ground with a volt meter

What I mean is Pepboys, Auto Zone.... rebuilt or new stuff are not as good as OEM nor are they made with the same care, knowledge and parts as OEM.

But the bolts are 7MM.

Ok so i placed the new TPS in there and set the Voltage to .45 exactly and now my trans shifts fine and i have no draw back or sudden rise or decrease in RPM. I'm idling around 800 RPM when in Park. So new problem lol... When i hit 80MPH to test it out and then parked afterwords (around 3 min later) I put the car in park and it was idling at almost 2,000 RPM? but when i turned the car off and back on It started idling at 800 RPM. Weird? I have no idea whats up. Man One problem arises with fixing one

Dirty/sticky AAC or IAC valves, throttle bodies or tight/binding accelerator or Cruise Control cables?

NOPE, you have to clear the ECU of the self learn parameters, You need a consult for that.

Clearing the codes MIGHT do the trick but I doubt it.

You need a Laptop consult by Blazt.biz or a real consult which the Infiniti dealer has, now would be the time to buy the Senior Infiniti tech some lunch.

I'll take some pictures for you and show you it seems very complicated but easy enough once you figure it out
