Replacing timing chain guides?

Can the SR20DET Timing chian guides be replaced without pulling the head?

I know removing the front cover interferes with the head gasket a bit but it's not a pressurized area, meaning I am hopeful that a bead of gasket sealer will suffice upon reassembly like it does everywhere else.

I don't want to disassemble half of the engine and buy new gaskets/head studs just to replace the chain guides if i don't have to.
