replacing the water pump

the question is do i have to remove the timing belt ? did anyone do his water pump withoult removing the belt ? can it be done ?

belt is almost new and now the pump took a ****

Yea I changed mine while I still could. Its best when you switch it before doing the swap but w/e.

As for the waterpump, yes you need to take out the timing belt because it gets in the way if I remember correctly. Timing belt and waterpump is what needs to be changed prior to the installation imo.

Of course you do! it wouldnt be any fun if you didnt have to take it off too! It took me and my friend like 4 hours to do mine before, and we thought it was going to be a quick job. Neway, good luck, and youll feel accomplished when its all done.

Timing belt isn't tough to do. There are marks on everything so it's tough to screw it up. Just make sure you tension it properly. It is a good idea to replace your tensioner and idler while you are at it if you have not done so already. Search NICO for the U.S. cross-referenced part numbers.

the part numbers listed on the replacment parts thread are wrong

local dealer ( been working with me on this project for years now ) cant cross them

here is the wrong numbers

Idler pulley 13074-58S00 also 13070-5L300

>> only right one: tensioner 13070-42L00

so no one knows the idler pulley part number ? a right number that is
