Can anyone help me find information on removing my old steering wheel and replacing it with a new (used) one on my 03 G35 Coupe? My driver side air bag would need to be switched out as well which kind of scares me. The old steering wheel is dried, cracked and has pieces sticking to my hand in those dew soaked, humid Florida mornings.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Fairly simple really.Car must be off. Key out of ignition. Remove the two Hex bolts on the sides of the steering wheel cover. You may need to buy the Tamper-resistant type bit if its available. The Air bag module slips off easily. CAREFULLY remove the connectors, slide a thin 1/4 inch screwdriver tip to lift the connector clip off, and disconnect. Set it aside, and then you'll need a 19mm deep socket to loosed the steering wheel nut. Just break it loose, then shake the wheel a little to break the metal to metal clasp and remove the nut and the wheel slips off. Be careful with the spiral cable and dont move anything around. Look at the alignment groove on the wheel and make sure it slides back on at the exact same spot as the old wheel. Reverse procedure from there and you're done.

Didn't see it mentioned, but I'd always disconnect the battery first.

Thats just a precaution. I've replaced tons of airbags and steering wheel switches and steering wheels. Car is off so systems are off and inactive. You can do it if it makes you sleep better. But I've never done it.

1+... If you clean it properly there should be no need, but I know mine does get a bit clammy in the humidity.

True, just makes me feel safer. Though I've never had to take off a steering wheel on a newer car, I'll stick to the ones that didn't have airbags.

I read on one posting that you need to reprogram your radio after replacing steering wheel. I have upgraded the radio, after 3 CD jam issues, with a Clarion VX-709. Has anyone heard this before?

thats if you take the measure of disconnecting the battery. Radio presets erase. Clarion radios suck. We replace many of them here at my dealer. However, the Panasonic radios in the QX56 rarely give issues. Why Infiniti doesn't switch to panasonic on a permanent basis is beyond me.
