Has anyone tried the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity on the Z? I hated the OEM Potenza RE040's that came with the car, wore out in 20K and VERY loud.

Wow 20k huh, that's actually a long time, you must have babied the car. You have to keep in mind that the stocker tires have a 140 tread wear rating. The lower the tread wear the softer the compound. anything bellow 140 is considered a race tire by the dot. In other words the re40's are the softest you can get for a street tire. Now that being said i personally don't think they are the best street tire. I am running an Avon compound now that is a at a 280 tread wear and i think they are just as good. If you are looking for something that will last longer find a tire with a 400 tread wear or above. Just beware that it will not grip like the stock tire did.

Haven't had those ones on my Z. Right now I'm putting on some Yokohama AVS Es100's untill I get some rims for it.

I am interested in knowing more about this. My Potenzas are wearing out bad to. I just got the car, and it has 35K miles on it. They wont grip for **** lol. What is a good replacement for these tires that will grip the road better and are not "cheap-o" tires? Anyone know?

Michelin PS 2 (from Tire Rack) or Nitto (from Discount Tire). The Michelin PS 2 replaces the Pilot Sports and are the finest performance tires out there for both street and track, but you get what you pay for. They are not "cheap-o".

I was thinking about getting a new set of wheels as well as tires in the probably near future as well. What i was thinking of as far as tires go are eather the Falken FK-452's or the Nitto INVO's. Has anyone had any experience with eather of these tires or tire brands? How are they?

Hey Matt 2036Interesting info, is the tread wear ratings, something we all can find online, or a website?

Yes tire rack for instance has them listed for each tire. The only problem is each tire company puts thir own rating so they all do vary a little.

I have to agree, the pilot sport were incredible on my Maxima, They lasted 50K as well. I didn't go that route on the Z though. Stay away from Town Fair Tire, they will never touch my Z again. Stick to quality shops boys, and gals! A local Firestone shop did a great job on a recent alignment and tire change out.

I have Michelin Pilot Sports and, after about 10,000 miles, they still look like they have plenty of tread left. They seem to be quieter than the stock Potenza's that were on the car. When I do have to replace them, I will try to get something that is quieter as I am not racing this thing at all.

I went with the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity, they have a treadwear of 440 and are very quiet. They are designed for the BMWs and Benz sport sedans. They are a great water tire. Granted they don't grip like the Potenzas but they are not bad. At least I don't have the roar anymore! I really don't race it either so they work for me. I put about 500 miles on them over the last week and I am happy so far.
