I see that the convertible top comes in two pieces for purchase. As anyone ever replaced the top by themselves? My upholstery says $1700 for a repacement, but looking at the purchase price I can get a complete top for less than five hundred dollars. Also, can get a top in white? Anyone done it?Don

Unfortunately, the top on the M is (from what I have heard) a PITA to replace.

I've never seen one in any color other than tan and black, but as with everything, if you have enough money, you could have one in purple with green polkadots.

Let me do some research, hold tight...

Didn't see a posted reply to this so maybe they PM'd you the info, but I figured for anyone else who stumbles upon this like I did, I had my top replaced by a local upholstery guy that does car and boat stuff. Only cost me $1275 for new top, including window, and it only took him a day (tho it did take about 10 days on order). I went with the standard black since I have a pearl-white car, but I too have wondered about a white top since I live in Phoenix and black is just flat hot!

White tops look like poo after just a few years imo.

I bought a top for mine, just about 2 months ago from Topsonline...I had it within a week, and it was under $500, I think, about $350 to be more accurate. I also have an upholstery guy putting it on next week for $250. I am in southern NM, so if you are in Phoenix it may be worth a trip this way. He keeps the car on Friday, and half a day on Saturday.
