New to the forum.

Could some one point me to a DIY or provide some detailed instructions on how to replace the cabin air filter in a 1999 Q-45??

The owners manual has not been of any help with this topic. The FSM has a single picture and the instructions are not clear enough.

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Man, that is about as clear as it gets in any FSM.

Just remove modesty panel, glove compartment, and reinforcing bar.

Does the G-50 have a cabin filter (besides all of the dust collecting in the ducts!)

No... which means you need to clean your evaporator every so often!

Yea - I noticed at Infinitiparts that Joe sells a BG product that cleans it. How do you get to it to clean it?

wow, i checked with the dealer on a cabin air filter for my 02 Q45, only to find that this little filter is over 80.00 ......wow! that is pricey.

has anyone had any luck with an aftermarket like a fram or the like?

my local auto parts store does not even have a listing for them

There are aftermarket versions, I searched on the web and found one for my 97 for $30 as compared to $50 elsewhere.

1.-In addition to what? What about my comment indicates ignorance or illteracy?

2.-What does this mean? I didn't come from the Hyundai boards. (I do spend alot of time on the Mustang boards.)

This guy needs help changing his filter. Help him change his filter by explaining your past expereince of changing yours.

InfinitiPartsUSA.com has the genuine Nissan item for under 60 bucks.

Incidentally, the filter for the 97-01 Qs is entirely different - and a lot cheaper (about 30 bucks for the OE part from Joe).

As far as installation goes, get someone to do it. I saw it 1/2 done by my mechanic, unless you're handy with cars, which I am not, get someone to do it. You have to take out the friggin' glove box! What a PITA....get one from Joe at infinitiparts and find someone that has done it before to install.
