Has anyone else experience this problem yet?

How difficult is it??

I'm surprised this happen so early... I've barely had my V for a year

the easiest way to find instructions is to look at the how to smoke your tailights, it will show you how to remove... taking the nuts off is the easy part, after that its b*tch...

should be that hard to replace your light bulbs of any kind front or back. just open up the cover and twisted out the plastic bulb holder and replace the bulbs. you don't have to remove the light assembly in order to replace a light bulb. take your car to kragen or autozone they might show you how to.

Follow the directions here, minus the painting part.

Took mine to the dealer, covered under warranty all free. Didn't have the time to do it when it needed to be done, just got lucky it was covered.

i take it you havent had a brakelight go out yet... the front you can still do in place, no prob... unless you have ogre hands like me... lol... but you have to remove the rears to access the bulb, unless youre a dwarf and have small hands that can reach into the access holes in the hatch....oh yeah and how did you find out that bulbs were covered under warranty? i wonder if mine are...

my brake lights are fine but i already removed and took it out just to see what kind of light bulb there are. the manual call for 75** and want to know what the different with our normal standard 1157. want to know what the different. the different is 1157 the side pins are 180 degree apart where as 75** are 160deg something like that. you can used 1157 but you have to file on pin off to make it work

I just did mine this weekend, so would like to share my experience. (1) pop out two little square shape plastic covers near the back end of the trunk (near the light assembly;(2) after removing the plastic covers, you would see a securing nut (one behind each plastic cover) to the light assembly, removing the nut;(3) now is the tough part, most forum messages talked about pulling the light assembly straight out (do not pull sideway as it will break the assembly) but it didn't work no matter how hard I try. So I refined my method and it worked pretty good. Stand on the side of car facing backward, put both hands on the light assembly plastic body and give it a burst of push toward the rear end of the car. you should hear something has "un-clipped" then gently pull the assembly out. Once the assembly is out, then it is very easy to replace the light bulb. You should also see the clip at the sharp end of the light assembly and make sure to align it first when you put the light assembly back.

Goo luck!

, the clip at the tail end (the sharp end)

I recently had to replace mine and did it almost exactly the way monkey228 has described it.

One thing i noticed is that the nut/bolt behind the upper access cover is covered by some sort of wiring support bracket. Removing that bracket seemed to be the most difficult part of the process.
