Hi there.

This is in regard to:
2001 Infiniti QX4 4WD
Stock Bose stereo
Pioneer MVH X560BT

I'm deep in the midst of replacing the old stereo with a digital receiver. Some of the wiring was pretty straight forward, but some of it isn't.

I have three wires off the old harness coming from the Infiniti that I don't know what are. They are colored:
Red/Yellow
Brown/White
Blue/Yellow
Can anyone tell me what these are?

The wiring harness that came with the Pioneer don't line up with any of these colorwise. They are:
White
Purple
Black/Purple
Green
Gray
Black/Gray

I've read the Pioneer manual (the English part) end to end. It's no help. I the have the EL (along with all the other) PDF chapters of the Infiniti service manual, but it's wiring diagram looks like gibberish to me. :gotme I can't make heads or tails out of what it's telling me. I'm just looking for something that straight-forwardly says: color1/color2 is the _____ wire, etc. Does anyone have some reference that is simple like that? :wtf2:

THanks!!

i have a 1999.5 pathfinder with the same exact head-unit you have now.
you need this harness to provide you the right color matching wires for the pioneer head-unit:

for me i completely rewired all door speakers (which are rockford fosgate) bypassing all stock amps and removing them, so each of my speakers connect directly to the head-unit, which is the ideal way, you'll notice that if you keep stock wiring and stock amps built into the bose system, the front door speakers will play louder than the back and so on, this is because of the built in Bose equipment. bypassing gives you best audio quality

I believe I already covered the amp issue with this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007WTF5 ... 90_TE_dp_2

It fit perfectly on the existing male connectors that look like the ones in the part you mentioned.

What I'm unable to find a wiring key for is the 3rd connector.
I wish I knew how to add an image. I'm holding it in my hand. On the back of it where the wires enter it there's two rows of possible wire connections. 6 on top (in 2 sets of 3 left & right) an 10 on bottom. Wires enter the left 3 spots on the top row and the 4th & 6th spots on the bottom row. From left-to-right top-to-bottom they are: black, red/yellow, red, blue/white(yellow?), brown/white. I'm trying to figure what each specifically does.

Thanks!!

i would believe that connector is for triggering the stock amps to turn on, i have the same headunit as you and what i did was only use the
black-ground
red-12v switched power
yellow- constant 12v

connected these wires from vehicle to pioneer deck to get full power, then all you have to do is run speaker wires from the head-unit to each speaker, bypassing all other stock amps, which is best because the aftermarket head-units already have a built in amp, you don't want to feed one amp to another amp
