Lately my remote/transponder key for my car has been kinda working on and off. It'll take me like 20 tries to unlock my doors and like 10 times to arm the car. Doesn't matter whether its cold or hot. Is there a battery that I can replace or something?

Yeah just pop it open and replace the battery, you'll be good to go

I literally was looking at it earlier this evening and didn't see any screws to unscrew. Just pry open with a small flathead? This is my only remote and don't want to break it.

Correct. A small flat head will do the trick, do not put much force into it as it scuffs easily.

Thanks fellas, I'll change it as soon as I get my car back. Brother and Mom decided to do a one day trip up to Sacramento in one day. They will be back later tonight.

Mine finally quit this morning.

As a reference for anyone else who needs to change the battery, the intellikey uses the 2025 button battery. I purchased a twin pack at Walgreens for $7.49 plus tax.

I'm sure the dealer would charge an arm and a leg to replace it.

I usually take the keyfob off the ring and then slip my key between the pieces at the bottom end. A little twist and it will pop open in two pieces. That will prevent the scuffs on the side of the unit.
