So, the other day I decided to clean my battery terminals and battery cable connectors. After cleaning them I went to put them back on and tighten them up but my negative battery cable connector was still sloppy and loose even though I had completely tightened the nut. After closer inspection of the negative connector it seems that the lower portion of the connector that fits around the lower portion of the negative battery post has a crack through it. How that happened.... I don't know.

I priced a new set for both the negative and positive battery cables from Nissan and it looks like it will be about $80.

Here are my questions: How difficult is it to replace these cables? I know the top half would be simple but what about the other end of the cables. I can't see where the cables go by looking from the top of the engine. I know the positive cable connects to the starter..... is that easy to get to? And does the negative just connect somewhere on the body? Thanks for any help!

the negetive cable terminates at a trans bolt, you'll see this when you get under the car, the tricky part is the cable bracket located on the back of the motor that helps keep the cables off your exhaust manifolds otherwise it's a pretty simple process, and I highly recomend using OE cables over generic aftermarkets fo hackjob termnals

Make sure you ground the negative cable to both the trans and the firewall. And make sure you connect the fuse box by the battery tray to the positive cable when you re-install everything. Like evildky said, it's pretty easy.
