yup.

nissans like to be taken apart. they don't giveup the cherry without some foreplay, ya know.

my preffered nico tutorial is by greenq45a (active model).

even if you are std, drop the tension rod bracket, drop the a/c--upper rear bolt on a/c is a pain, but do it as a straight thin 3/8 drive ratchet on 14mm.

take out the outboard (12mm) bolt on alt first, then crack the 14, rotate alt CW until it stops. this will give you an 1/8 inch that makes a big diff to get the a/c out. then after the a/c is out it's straight forward.OEM reman only---you don;t want to do this again soon. check your pulleys. oh, and what about your chain guides---you've already done those, right?

Thanks for the help 3Q and no I have not replaced the chain guides yet but am strongly considering it along with the fan that is decoratively cracked nylon. Given those facts, I have decided to go in from the front to make these repairs all at once.

You want to pull a G50 alternator from the front... as in up top? Have a box of tissues nearby for the blood and tears.

don't know if the 92 is the same setup as a 93q45, but I had to scratch my head for a while trying to figure out how to get the backing nut for the top alternator bolt to stay in place since there is no access without dropping the ac unit. A bit of an unorthodox solution, but what worked for me was to superglue the nut directly to the alternator using the bolt to make sure the threads were aligned properly, and then packing around the nut with steel epoxy putty. Allow it harden up, then take the bolt out. Work the alternator into place gently and cross your fingers !!!
