I probably should have started this thread a few bays ago but....My son is driving up from the Bay area this morning and we're going to replace the original struts on his 2010 Altima 2.5 coupe with KYB struts today. I've replace struts on a couple of my Q45's and his girlfriend's Mitsubishi and have all the correct tools to complete the replacement on the Altima. The Q's and the Mitzu were pretty straightforward as long as you marked the strut to springs to boot alignment before compressing the springs. Is there anything special I should know about replacing the Alty's struts before I get started or are they similar to most other Nissans? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I presume you know not to put your head inside the rear wheel well when replacing the boot spring...

If you've done it before, it shouldn't take you very long at all- it was an afternoon job for two guys who had never done that job before. Bring PB Blaster.

We finished the strut replacement last weekend. The rears were simple but we had a little trouble trusting that the front springs were fully compressed before starting to unbolt the top nut of the assembly. After repositioning and tightening the spring compressors a couple of times we got it right and completed the install. Saved a lot of $$ by doing it ourselves.
