so i'm very uncontent with the front seats i have in my 91 hatch, so i'm looking into buying new bucket/racing seats, however i'm not going for 2,000$ brides/momo's/sparco's. so i'm thinking about just buying some of those A&R seats from sport compact car magazine, or just go online and get some of those Black bucket seats that have the nismo logo stiched into them. not real nismo but a decent knockoff. if i need more safety i can get 5 point seatbelts or something, but what do you guys think. my price range for 2 front seats is about 300-400$

If you get a 5 poin harness, you have to get a roll bar.

S14, S15, and R32 seats are a nice cheap upgrade. I've seen some 300zx seats modded to fit too and are very nice. If you choose to go aftermarket, be ready for some suprises with the seat rails, most make the seat sit way too high. Also concider rear accessablility, some aftermarket seats make it literally imposible to get into the back seats from the front doors.

you don't think they'll be able to fold down then? interesting. well i've check up R32 seats and they're absoloutely ridicoulous. mainly because people think they can charge up the A$$ for anything that bears the mighty GT-R symbol. so s14 seats ya say? how much do those cost/how easy is the install/how well will it work?

s14 and s15 (im pretty sure) seats bolt right in, no modification nessecary. I'd say $200 is a real good price for a pair of front s14 seats.

S15 seats bolt right in. I love mine! Unfortunatly, they usually run for $600+ for a pair. I got lucky and got the one for $200 local.

You have a hella nice car rico.

Don't stich Sparco on them unless they're Sparcos.

Doesn't really matter who makes them as long as they work....

Dunno why you'd need two true buckets anyway. I'd just say go for one nonreclining bucket on the driver's side, and then one like S14 or S15 seat on the passenger side.

Thats what Im doing... function > form. If you want something cosmetic, either get some nice clean S15 or S14 seats, or keep saving and get two Bride seats or something... Dont go with knockoff seats. You have to sit in these things while you drive, comfort will matter. Not to mention, why would you go ghetto cheap with the things that hold you into the car, such a seatbelt/harness... that sounds crazy... Go ahead and get the real deal, if you want buckets, you wont reget it. Or, if youre actually wanting these for the right reasons, which I would say is to keep you planted while performance driving, then get one driver seat and leave your passenger seat stock.

i wouldnt go cheap on something thats up my arse. i suggest you just save up and buy 1 seat/bracket. i've sat in knock offs and it sucks... some ebay bride brix man did they blow. i've also sat on the tenzo rs lol i dont even want to comment on that

bucket seats arent really that comfortable if thats what youre looking for. you get stuck when trying to come out and it sucks =/

brides arent 1k each either. theyre about 650-700 for the fiberglass buckets and 1300-1400 for the carbon fibers and more for the bigger ones. if youre looking for a seat thatll hold you well even if youre doing 1gs in the turns a bucket would be good for you if not just get some reclinables.

recaro has some bucket seats for about 500-600 each

I had to choose between 2 grey leather S14 chairs for $250 and about 2 hours away or a single S25 seat for $200 local. It does suck that I have such a great seat for me, but the other one looks like a$$.

Yeah i just picked myself up a used sparco speed seat with a 240sx bracket already instelled and a nismo 4 point harness for $175 I got hell of a deal I really like the sparco speed seats they are comfrotable but the only downside is getiing in and out can be a hassle and this seat is designed for the smaller people here is a picture of my seat.

My plan is also to find a good seat of S14 seats. I may even pick up with S15 if the price is right.
