It is me again and I have another question about my Beast. I just replaced my stock radio on my 94 Q45 and it is not working. There is power to the radio and it is working "technically", but there is no sound. The antenna goes up, the radio turns on but no sound from the speakers. I tested the radio with a random speaker laying in the garage and it worked and sound was coming out of speaker.

I did a little homework and found out due to the Bose amp system I need to get a special amp harness. Well I went to several stores including car audio stores and was directed to Best Buy. I just received the amp harness and it does not look like it is the part I need.

Does anyone have any advise or information that can help me get my sounds back. I have been without music for a week now and it is killing me.

well you have 2 option take the speaker one buy one write down the colors you see then go to your hardness and identify whats were and manually cut wires and connect or keep looking for your amp kit !! now in my case i change all speaker because my amps when out on 2 speakers.. i wired them with same wires that the q45 has and tied in the tweeters with the front speakers.. now when you identifying the wire you have a 12 volt and a ground wire to the amp and 2 wire for the speakers you really need to make sure you know whats-- whats before cutting.. let me know ill be more and happy to help..

If you change your the factory unit you have to change the speakers too. The Bose headunit and speakers are designed to work together. i believe they operate at 2ohms. Aftermarket stuff are usually 4ohms and up. Even if you did get sound, it might come from only 2 of the spekers (1 front and back) and not sound as half as good as original unit. Can't used these bose speakers with aftermarket head units. Get new speakers.

I replaced my stock unit with an aftermarket unit, did not replace the speakers. I just bypassed the factory amps, all four work just fine, well did until the rears blew out from being old.

I just recently did a few thousand dollars in stereo work on my Q and have had an interesting experience, which may or may no be unique.

To save time I won't detail the gear I have installed (Its actually to the left, right under the pic of my ride).

I have noticed that my front components do not seem to be as loud as my rear fill. The JL Audio amp has been tested and is confirmed working on all four channels, my question is, does the factory wiring on the front speakers restrict the power the amp is trying to deliver to the drivers??

It is a learning experience and fun to do. Besides I love to show these dumb mechanics I am not just another dumb broad but actually have the brains to know about her car and what she needs(with the help from you guys of course). :mike :mike

OMG, I so love the photos. Thanks for sharing with me. I would love for my Q to get to this point and the stereo is very nice(you can always ship it to me when your done with it and ready to upgrade again) oh and the flag not to bad either LOL. where did you get the LED lights and head lights? I want to hear the sound now. I returned the stereo and put the stock back in, but I know it is going out because it shuts off randomly and then after a few minutes turns back on.

To bad you didn't live closer so we can work on the cars together. I did just replace the 6x9 speakers in the back a few months back when I tinted the windows.

You will need a special harness to adapt 3rd party stereo head to the Bose in speaker amplifier system. Really best not to change it unless you have bucks coming out of the kazoo and can afford to replace everything including the wire.

I ordered and used the special harness and still not worth it. I can now swap out a stereo in record time.

Can't wait to hear the ending of the black president story!
