I have an 05 G35 coupe with the bose set-up. My last car had a complete system that was very loud, and now I miss it. My question is, can you install amps and speakers while keeping the factory head deck? The 05 model has an integrated control scheme that is not conducive to an aftermarket head deck (or so it seems...). Anybody have pics of an 05-06 with an aftermarket head deck, or a set-up using aftermarket speakers/amps?

The short answer is yes.

Now to get to a good sounding system it's going to take a bit of money. First thing you're going to have to do is buy a product like JLs CleanSweep which removes all the equalization from the signals.

This will give you a clean starting point.

Then from there you just add your amp(s) and speakers

CleanSweep is the best to use if you want to keep the factory unit. I installed a pre-amp in mine to get over that issue, but I have to turn the gains way up which injects some noise.
