I have seen some threads on this but still can not decide how to go. I want to upgrade the rotors and pads but can't decide the best way to go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,Mark in Miami

Lots of choices ...

A big brake kit (like getting the G37 rotors and calipers, etc.) is expensive, but will give you outstanding results.

Without going that far, you have some choices in rotors and pads. I personally prefer the OEM pads because of their good balance between longevity and performance. However, people here seem to be leaning strongly towards Hawk - some searches will give you more information.

From a rotor perspective, the weight (i.e., and density) of the iron is more important than whether it is drilled or slotted (or both). This is because the rotor heat capacity is important, so that the energy of braking can be absorbed and transferred into the hub, etc. Less fade that way, etc.

There are plenty of rotors choices available and plenty of good brands available too. My rule of thumb: find the heaviest one you can at the correct size. Plated ones will not rust where the pad does not touch the iron ...

I'm going to need new brakes in the next year, and I'm intending to get Frozen Rotors and Hawk pads.

Replacing mine all round. Purchased cross-drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads from Brakemotive. They are made by powerstop. I'll post some pics when I put them on next weekend.

I'm in the same situation as you. I'm looking at either the frozen rotors or the DBA slotted rotors, but going with hawk break pads for sure.

I am a member of another Nissan forum where Brakemotive is a sponsor. I bought the rotors with ceramic pads with a 10% discount and free shipping.

The product is quality and the same weight as factory. I have been very impressed and they look good. They also offer to freeze treat the rotors for I believe $20/rotor. I did not do that, so I can not comment on it or be 100% of the cost.

I will try to post some pictures this weekend to show the comparisons between stock and the replacements off the car so you can see the vein area and the comparable thickness. Most of the cheap rotors I have seen really skimp on the thickness of the actual rotor faces, not these.

Thank you all. I have ordered the DBA rotors and Hawk pads. I'll take some pictures and post as soon as I have it done.

i emailed brakemotive through ebay and they wrote back saying they don't offer the cryo (freeze) treatment.. too bad cause that price was looking good..
