I know several people have asked how to replace the rear wiper on the Armada & QX56. Well, I did this last week, here is a run down.

- You need to purchase a 12" wiper blade. I was not able to find just the blade so I ended up purchasing a whole new wiper (you will end up throwing away the wiper and using just the blade.

- Carefully remove the old blade by pushing the rubber blade back enough so that is can pass against the plastic part of the wiper arm.

- Once you have the blade past the plastic end of the wiper arm, carefully slide the blade out of the wiper arm.

- You will notice when you have the blade pulled out, there is a thin metal strip on both sides of the blade, save these, you will need them for the new blade.

- Slide the new blade into the wiper arm WITHOUT the two metal strips, this will make it much easier to slide into the wiper arm.

- Once the rubber blade is completely in the wiper arm, carefully slide one metal strip into the blade. Make sure you are sliding into the groove on the wiper blade. Be sure to guide the blade with your fingers as you slide it in.

- Repeat the same thing with the other metal strip on the other side.

I am very happy with my results, my rear wiper works better than it did when it was brand new back in January. Please let me know if anyone has any questions, this is very easy to do!

You might get extra life out of your wiper blades by running a sheet of 800 grit paper or emory cloth along the edge of the blades(s) to rough them up and establish a new edge against the glass. If this doesn't work, then you obviously have the option of replacing the blades.
