Replacing rear main seal on SR?

Car: 1990 240sx- SR20 swap and a turbo that's absolutely too big, spools around 4,400 and I love it!!!

Not real sure how to go about doing it. Someone told me that you just take something like a hook and pull the seal out and then just put the new one in but that sounds too simple to me.

thats pretty much it. you can buy a seal puller from advance for like 10 bucks. look in the rebuilding motor thread hijacker shows a pic of one.

Or just carefully use a small flathead screwdriver, and save a few bucks. :)

So that really is all there is to it? Is there any way to know that it's seated in there correctly or anything?

My DIY rebuild thread has how to remove/install the seal. But it has an inner lip that the seal should seat to.
