I had a problem this weekend trying to compress the piston back into the caliper enabling installation of new rear brake pads on my '03 Maxima. Not wanting to damage anything, I gave up and put old pads back into caliper. Is there a trick I don't know of in doing this on the rears? Front pads were changed with no problems at all. Thanks.

Yes, the Maxima pistons must be "screwed" back into place. You simply can't press them back in.
