'94 240sx, leaking power steering pressure line. Should be an easy fix to replace hose, but can't get the 14mm nut where the rubber hose connects to the hard line to come off. Have tried nut wrench, vice grips, hit with rubber mallet. It finally loosened some, enough to allow fluid to start to drip, but still stuck. Almost acts like it's cross threaded.

I see others have had the same problem, but no solutions posted. How did you guys finally resolve the problem? Anybody with other suggestions?

Okay, it's taken care of. For future reference, for anybody who might want to know one way to resolve the problem, I used the sawzall to cut through the bottom knuckle (that was a PITA but it worked) and was lucky enough to just barely miss the end of hard tubing. Now I'll grind that wasted nut off, replace it and re-flare the end of the tubing and should be good to put the new hose on. When all else fails, pull out the hammers and the saws...........

Added note: a word of caution here -- If you decide to go this route, be sure you have another fitting on hand. They are an odd thread pitch and not easily accessible. Most shops don't carry them and Nissan will not sell you just a fitting - only the whole hardline assembly to the tune of $400+. Thanks Luis and Derek for saving my behind.

Oh, we did all that. Long wrench, vice grips and pipe on one side, BIG wrench on the other for leverage, hit the wrench repeatedly with a rubber mallet -- you name it, we tried it, but that baby was STUCK.

With my 240, it ain't stuck until it's broken... at which point it actually WAS stuck and now needs replacement. ;)

Precisely.

I mean big pipe. Either it comes out, or it shears off, but either way, it cuts your work out for you clearly and simply. (and if it shears, there's no more friction from the head, and it may come out with a pencil eraser)
