I've replaced both cv axles on a 1992 Maxima GXE and I know that I had to drain the transmission fluid prior to removing the axles. Is the process the same on a 1999 Altima SE? Will I have to drain the fluid first? I was also wondering if anyone could tell me what the time listed in the labor time guide is to replace the cv axle on the passenger side. I just want to give an idea of a fair price for the work involved.

Thanks

Matt

Just to let everyone know, I went ahead and placed stands under the front of the car, placed a pan under the area where the cv axle was inserted into the transmission, pulled the cv axle expecting a mess but to my surprise, not a drop leaked out. The rebuilt unit is in and all is well. The socket for the axle hub if anyone wants to know is a 36MM.
