Crap... However much I would loveto buy a 240 and pop in an SR20DET, there is the one minor "if something breaks" thing. What do I do? I know the policy of Unstable is to replace the ENGINE if something catastophic happens and it ain't your fault, but what if its, say... a fuel pump, I don't know much about the engine, but you know, something that if it broke on a KA, I could just take it to a mechanic and get the thing replaced of fixed? The SR would require what? Some strange Jap part that has to be shipped from, of course, Japan? Crap...

Most parts are pretty much easily available, to my knowledge, for the SR20DET. If it is the motor right off the bat, the warranty should cover it unless it is abused. You can use your current stock fuel pump, but it is not recommended. Walbro makes a nice replacement for $119 or so. If you run into a problem, just throw a thread up on the board, and I am sure that someone will be able to help.

Go to www.srswap.com they show what parts are interchangable with the SR20DET motor.

I think that you should do more research before you seriously consider having any swap done. You should know what could go wrong, what people/places can fix it, and how much parts could cost. The Fuel pump was a newbie question (you can also just get a 300ZX FP) unless its something directly bolted on or in the engine you shouldnt have many problems that USDM nissan or import specialist shops couldnt handle. If something breaks then just do a search of this forum or another nissan forum about how to fix it. Im very sure its happened to someone before it will ever happen to you.

A newbie question? That makes sense, I registered 4 days ago. The fuel pump was the only thing that came to mind, so that's why I put it down. BTW, I won't get the car/engine for at least 11 months, so research is what I'm doing. I know I can consult the forum for any problems I have, that's why I registered, to research and to have a resource IF I get the car and do the swap, which seems quite likely at this point. Oh, thanks for the srswap website, could be helpful.
