Hey guys,

I've been putting off replacing my o2 sensor since one of them went downhill about 2 years ago. Now it's time to go pass an emissions test, and I don't want to take any chance of not being able to pass the test due to problem with the o2 sensor.

I'm pulling a 1145 code, which I've found out is the drivers side, but I've read in a couple of places that if one fails, you'll need to apply them both.

Now my first question is this: what type of o2 sensor will I need to buy a pair of? I've been looking at the following website...

http://cpwstore.carpartswholes...&sv=0

... and there's tons of o2 sensors for a 2001 Pathfinder SE. Which one should I buy?

Also, just to make sure my understanding is correct, after I've replaced the sensor, I should be able to clear the code with my OBD II code reader and be good to go, right?

Why would you need to replace both? Is it the upstream (before the cat) or downstream (after the cat) sensor that's throwing a code?

I would only replace the sensor that is putting out the code. NGK is supposed to make direct fit replacements with wires included etc. Cheapest I have found them is Summit.

Looked on Summit, and I found some sensors from "NTK" but not "NGK".

And the reason why I had planned to replace both is because I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that one malfunctioning sensor would cause the other to weaken immensely. A couple of guys had suggested that if you're going to replace one, you might as well replace the other as well since it'll screw up shortly after replacing the first sensor.

But if you guys are saying that it's only needed to replace one sensor, then one sensor it shall be! I trust you guys more so than another random website I had found.
