Hey guys. After getting poor gas mileage (11-14 mpg) in the city/some hwy (not heavy footed in order to test efficiency) my check engine light finally came on! P0153 was the code which is a Slow O2 sensor response Bank 2 sensor 1.

Car:'07 Altima 3.5L sedan

Long story short my dealer gave me the run around even though I only bought it 3.5 weeks ago (with their warranty). It's running so rich I can smell it! I have no idea how it passed emissions?

Anyways, even though I know the issue and code they still want $96 to run a diagnostic. When asked if it was covered under t heir warranty they replied "we're not sure...you'll have to bring it in and let us look at it first". Lame.

I'm good with working on engines, so if it's accessible I can change the part. I've tried searching for the location of Bank 2 sensor 1 online with no success. I know it's on the drivers side, before the cat. Has anyone came across this sensor??? Possibly when installing new manifolds or something of that sort.

ok, your B2S1 is on the left hand exhaust manifold on the top. not sure if thats the one at the front of the car or near the firewall( think its the one towards the front). but i guess you can find that out. make sure the car is completely cooled off and see if you can clean the threds for the O2 sensor, it also says to use anti sieze. torque rating for the O2 is 50ft.lbs. your warranty should cover that though. if you need more info let me know and i'll try to help.good luck.
