I just bought a second hand M45 S. We have bumpy roads in my city and its kinda stiff...

When I read about the spare parts i found out that M45 S comes with a different suspension that the regular M45 ...

So i'm thinking about changing the suspension to the regular ones (i dont care much about the performance) ... my question is, will it make a difference ? .. will it make the car more comfortable ? .... also, do you think it might cause me any problem ?

thankss

thats a really good question as I drive a M45 S as well, what suspension parts are you looking to replace?

but essentially they should be the same body and frame just different suspension type since its a bit more stiff and lower with sport models than regular models

you may want to do some research on this one. A short while back, there was a big write up on the comparison of the "after market" shocks for the Sport vs non sport models. I'm not sure what the outcome was, but some referenced that the Non Sport shocks would work and they were cheaper. (I think).

non the less... you may want to search the threads and see if you can find that posting.

If i get some time later on this evening, i'll help and search also.

If it is similar to the 2007, both the springs and the shocks are stiffer.

As far as OEM "non sport" springs or shocks, incredibly expensive to say the least.

The aftermarket alternative "non sport" KYB's, won't change a whole heck of a lot in terms of ride quality.

So, your best bet are tires (the cheapest route). Switch to a good touring tire since performance is not a priority. That will make the most difference-afterall they are the only things that touch the ground (hopefully).

Other than that, going down to a 18 inch wheel will help out as well especially combined with a touring tire.

In the mean time insure your cold tire pressure is 32 PSI.

I've had an 07 non sport and an 08 sport, I believed that only the springs were stiffer and a bit shorter than the base non sport, however if you looked up the part #'s then maybe I am wrong about the struts... In my experience the numberone thing that Erroll help you will be changing out your tires!!! I changed my 245/40/19" bridgestone OEM to a set of close out Firestone firehawk from tirerack.com(2yrs ago) went up in size to 255/45/19" and they were extremely quiet and comfortable!!! Under stock set up, I did not feel much difference between the two (sport and non sport) Hope that helps...

well, my stock bridgestone tires are due.. im gonna change them soon. Im sure i'll find a big difference since bridgestones are very noisy and uncomfortable..

But i'm talking about a different thing here. Maybe i didn't explain it well... Have you seen some of the new car advertisement, where the car goes over those little "holes" in the street (not sure if the are called "holes", my native language isn't english) ... In the advertisement, you can see that only the wheels move down and up, not the whole car.. that's of course, the shock absorber ... I used to have a Cadillac STS with magnetic ride control wich was doing the same..

Now with the M45, I feel that the whole car is going down and up, not only the wheels.. that's what took me to the spare parts site to find out that the "S" shock absorbers are different...

I totally agree and understand what you mean... Maybe Infiniti may not have been for you? Lexus has the history of an extremely smooth ride and quiet!! But lack the performance and torque and advance technology features that Infiniti brings! If you say you are not into the performance and sport feel of the car maybe a Toyota/Lexus counterpart like Avalon and or Ls460!! :gotme

Anyways, like I said... Between the two infinitis: sport and non sport, you will not notice a big difference!! Or big enough to go through such a change of parts... Try the tires first, good luck! :dblthumb:
