Replacing license plate lights

Hey guys, How the hell do you replace the license plate lights? I spent over an hour trying to figure it out! i looked through the "How-to" section in this forum and went through the owners manual. Any help? Even my buddy who as a altima sedan couldn't figure it out. Thanks! I hate to use a thread for something stupid as this...
