I got a slow leak from my trans on my 92 240sx (5 speed), i believe its from the trans switches.
It could be the reverse lamp switch, top position, O.D. position, Neutral position, or reverse position check sleeve. my trans is covered with gear oil. from as much as i can tell its not from the oil seal or shifter. I am about to blast the whole transmission with brake cleaner to try to find where its actually leaking from.
Question 1)
Out of all the switches i stated above, is there any special procedures in removing / installing them? just take them out and screw back in?
Question 2)
According to the service manual it stated i should use "Nissan sealant kp610-00250 or equivalent" Do anybody know what is "equivalent" in a auto parts store? (trying to save some $$$ this project is killing me)
Question 3)
about the reverse position check sleeve, does it have a gasket? if it does, does anyone knows the part number?
Sorry for all the questions, i am pretty new to 240's, any info on this topic would help me out a lot, these PIDA slow leaks is driving me nuts!!!
Thanks in advance.
