Another DIY with pics for all to use and enjoy. I am sure many of you already know how to do this. This is for the novices and newcomers.

This should only take about 5 - 10 minutes to do. Again never pay a dealership to do this. It is very simple and takes very little effort.

First, Open glove box and kneel beside the car. Place your left hand under the glove box and lift up and towards you. See pic below:

There are notches on each side of the glove box that insert into the grid that the glove box rides on. Once the notches are clear you should feel the glove box drop. Let the left side touch the floor board.

Next, release the cable. Pretty simple. Just pull gently and it pops right off.

Now remove the black outer cover. Pretty much just release the 3 notches on the bottom of the cover by lifting up slightly on the cover.

You will now see the white cabin filter door.

IMPORTANT!!!!!! On the right side is the release clip. Pull on this VERY GENTLY and ONLY OPEN SLIGHTLY!!!! Then pull straight out to the right. This is to avoid breaking the clips on the left.

There it is!!! Remove and replace with the new one. Make sure the wording is facing you and upright.

When you put the cabin door back you want the filter to press to the top of the enclosure. The pieces on the back of the Cabin Door hold the filter to the top of the enclosure.

I hope this helps

Cool Writeup. Just ordered one. I do have that "musty" smell sometimes on start-up of the A/C system. Wonder if I should have ordered the seat filters too. Guess I will see if this is all it takes and go from there! Thanks.

Any other suggestions for purchasing? Are the partgeeks filters near OEM quality? Any idea what the dealer typically charges for this?

Be careful...most of the filters they sell (if not all) for the M, even if they claim they are activated charcoal, are just paper filters. I had to return the one I received from them even though I asked three times, this is an activated charcoal filter, right. What I received was just a paper filter. Their customer service was not very helpful. They just issued me a RMA to send the filter back. I couldn't even get them to cover the return shipping charges since it was their mistake (I asked the guy three times).

Can one of the techs chime in and let us know if the G35/FX35/FX50 filters are the same as ours?

Hi All,

I changed my filter today, but of course I broke the tabs on the white cabin filter door.

Does anyone know the part number for the white cabin filter door? Is it 27255P.

Thanks-
Rpastir
