I have a 1990 240sx (sohc KA24e). Currently I have a HotShot header on it, but it's too loud so I ordered an oem exhaust manifold from midway parts. But looking at the oem part and the HS header, the oem manifold will not reach to the cat converter. Did I order the wrong part or are there more parts necessary? Thanks in advance.

it may matter weather your car is califonia emissions or federal emissions, I know this plays a part on some of the nissan products, Do you have any pictures of your exhuast and your new parts?

My buddy had the same problem with the exhaust being too loud. There is a simple 20 dollar fix. We went to meijer and bought a cherry bomb muffler even though it looks more like a resingnator. We welded it in abought a foot after the catalytic converter. It cut the exhaust noise level in half.

well it looks like you original exhuast has been cut off and a new flange has been added where the header attaches to the exhust pipe. Snap a shot uner the car where the header bolts up. I am betting a large chunk of your exhuast has been cut off.

The manifold is the correct one though.

What is a nem flange? Sorry, I don't have access to a lift. The exhaust flow is from the hotshot header, then into a high-flow cat and 2.5 in brm exhaust provided by Greg. So what does this mean in terms of if i want to go back and use the stock manifold?

*new*

It sounds as if the header pipe[pipe between factory manifold and cat] has been removed, that is at least what else you'll need to put the exhaust manifold back on.

Thanks. I was confused (n00bness) and thought a header was the exact same thing as the exhaust manifold. So I guess I need the header and the gaskets that connect it to the e manifold and cat? What else can there be? I have these diagrams from Dan Tech, but not sure if i need any of those other smaller pieces. Do i just need the 20010 piece? Thanks for all your help man.

every thing in the red circle is what you'll need, unless you have an automatic transmission then you'll need everything in the box at the upper left

20010= header pipe.20511=upper header pipe heat shield20510=lower header pipe heat shield20511m=header flenge shield20712=header to cat gasket20671=upper and lower heat shield clamp.the part numbered ones like 08915-5381a are the actual factory part numbers and are all bolts to attach the sheilds.

"new flange" not "nem flange" sorry.
