Was thinking up changing the bulbs out in my 94 Q, but it looks like I will have to remove quite a bit of stuff just to get at the back of the lenses. Anybody do this yet? and if so, how long did it take. Thanks

Easy, unless perhaps it is an active. If you have fissures in the grey plastic housing, remove the whole units and fill fissures with epoxy.

You can polish the glass with bartender's friend then armor them.

I put Silverstars in my 94Q a couple of months ago and it was a simple DIY. Once you are back there you will want to adjust your headlamps. Easy to do if all the plastic adjustment gears are intact but they won't be. Each headlamp assembly needs to be removed and put back in place numerous times until it's right. Good luck.

All the adjustment gears in mine were brittle, cracked and spun on their shafts. I followed Jeff Williams lead and removed the headlight assembly, made an adjustment, reinstalled, check for level, remove assembly, etc, etc. until I had it right.

Bummer, but necessary procedure when adjusters don't work, I guess.

I replaced the bulbs on my 97, it was very easy. Remove the battery to get to the passenger side rear cover. Airbox hinders access to the drivers side but is do-able without removing the airbox. Not sure if it's the same on a 94. Definately look into Sylvania Silverstars, much, much better than stock.
