Ok so I failed, Nissan does not sell the top plate of the sending unit separate from the fuel pump and level sender. The level sender and pump are available but Nissan has no part number callout for the housing. My best bet was to get the complete unit with pump, sock and level sender included. I was able to order the complete unit for about $170 w/ tax from Carquest. It's a Bosch unit part number# 67995.

I started hitting bolts with PB Blaster, the repair begins Saturday.

Right fckng on! Every part I came across was like 500 dollars. Yeah, right. For that price I'm fabricating. 170 is doable.

Spray paint the top with some rust stopping paint.

Did it come with the big rubber o-ring?

It seals between the metal plate and the gas tank.

Yeh I know what it does lol. It's not in the box with the pump assembly. Guess I be calling CQ tomorrow to get one rolling my way.

Grumpy is what I named the new truck. How much HP boost does a cookie bring?

Nissan part number for the O-Ring= 17342-01A00

It was in stock since many of the new Nissans use the same seal. About $7 for it.

Ugh, needs a tank. The vent line that is a formed part of the tank is broken off. The rest of it looks like crap. I could cob it and have it haunt me later on or replace it with a new tank, coat it with bedliner spray and get some years out of it. Either way, ugh.

No one in town had a tank for this truck. I called California Minitruck and spoke with Mike who is sending me a rust free Cali tank for $150 shipped to my front door step. http://www.calminitruck.com

Fuel sending unit bolts x6

The thread dimensions for the bolts holding the fuel sending unit: M5x.080 thread pitch by less than 10mm long. Forget waiting for the dealer to order them in, I went to the hardware store and got creative. I purchased allen head bolts, stainless washers and stainless lock washers (M5 both). The allen head bolts are M5x.080x10mm. All I did was stack the washers to get the correct amount of thread depth. The torque should be no more than 1ft.lb. I tightened with an allen key. It turned out great!

Also, the tank from California Minitruck arrived yesterday, check this tank out...$145 shipped to my door, less than I was quoted. It's in superb shape.

Here's some old tank vs new tank pics.

old tank=

Going to coat new sending unit and tank seams with liquid bedliner.
