Hi everyone.

I think I know how to do this but I just want to make sure since I've broken things in the past because I didn't know what I was doing and it's really not fun.

Anyway, I did RTFM and it says to remove the "intake manifold stay." What's that mean?

As far as I can tell, all I need to do to be able to remove the fuel rail is remove these two parts and of course the bolts.

Am I missing anything?

Also, I got a set of 2g DSM 450 injectors. I read the installation guide in the FAQs, anything else I should know?

Thanks,

Darian

Intake manifold stays are 2 black peices of metal, that look like tubes with the ends smashed flat and has holes in them. They attach the upper plenum to the lower sub-manifold.

I really appreciate the help. Are there any parts that can easily get lost when I remove the two pieces I circled? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I really don't want to create extra problems for myself.

Thanks,

Darian

Make sure you have newish rubber seals for all the injectors. When i switched to my 440's i had to replace them. 20 year old rubber sucks, who would have guessed...

And lubing up the tops of those injectors with a little dish soap will help them slide into the fuel rail easier. The DSM injectors can be a tight fit. Keyword "can."

Thanks everyone.

I got the rail off and replaced the injectors. I lubed up the o-rings with engine oil and they slid in. No real drama and it will be much quicker last time.

One issue I did have is that the DSM injectors are a little shorter. I've tightened all the bolts, but I can't get the injectors to go all the way into the fuel rail. So far I haven't noticed any leaks, so I guess it's OK.
