Yes no special tools at all. But the fuel filter bracket bolt rusts. Mine broke off. I ended up replacing the entire fuel filter bracket and the replacing the bolt with a stainless steel bolt.

I did my fuel filter yesterday along with charging the A/C. I did notice better throttle right after the filter swap. I didn’t have to take the bracket off.. I just slightly unscrewed the clamp on the left side and push it through to the passenger side. Pulling the fuel pump fuse and cranking the engine to bleed the gas worked like a champ, but I did spill about 5oz of gas. Here are some pics. I sliced the oem filter right down the middle to show the junk inside. My 98 pathfinder has 155k and I think this was the original filter.

Id rather spend that $10 on a footlong subway club with the works and extra chipoltle sauce

I did mine earlier this year, took 20 mins, bolts were stripped, but no big deal

LOL he's one of my buddies, forgot to mention. MY bolts were rusted slam and stripped and I didn't have a grinder or a small enough pair of bolt cutters, so i said f*** it.

$10? For $10 I would have been more than happy not to crawl underneath the Pathfinder and get gas on my clothes. I think Nissan quoted me $55 to do the job (filter included). You can get a Fram filter for around $10 @ Wallyworld. I bought a Nissan filter from the dealer for around $18 I think. Would have been a 15 minute job if the bracket bolt didnt break off. Seriously, if you can find a "mechanic" to change it for $10 go for it. Like Fueler said, he wont be in business long.

Dunno about their fuel filters, but Fram oil filters used to be the best in the biz(OEM on Ferraris ca 1974) but do some googling and you'll find out about thecurrent Fram oil filters. You don't want them. Wix seems to be the hot tip.

Yep, havent heard or read anything good about Fram oil filters in years. I wont use their fuel filters myself because of it, and I think they are made in China or Mexico. Wix is a new name to me but hearing lots of good things about them. I like stock oil filters or Mobil 1 filters. I wanted to use Nissan fuel filter but I know some dont care except for price which is why I mentioned Fram at Wallymart.

Fram oil filters are FINE, theyve just let out a few bad batches of filters where the composites of the internal material was made wrong and broke down over time, this letting a few engines suck in some "cardboard"

You can hate them for life for it, I doubt youll even be able to find an actual case event of soemone saying something bad happened to them and have them prove it.

OEM is obviously the best, but I stick with Quaker state (as I bought 20 of them on sale lol)

Thats good to hear, I used to use only Fram air filters before I found out about K&N. I dont hate Fram at all, had heard so much negativity about their "cardboard" filters I thought maybe all their stuff went downhill. I do tend to check where products are made though, if at all possible I try to stay far away from China made items. Go try to find alot of power tools today though, its tough to find USA made. Sometimes it can be tough and expensive.
