I am about to upgrade the front brakes to the Z32 setup (calipers, rotors, and SS lines). My current bearing make a growl sound as the car drives, so I assume after 210,000 miles they are ready for replacement. Advance Auto parts has them for $140/each. Anyone know of a cheaper place to get them? I haven't taken mine apart yet. Can these be greased rather than replaced?

At that price they are trying to sell you a hub assy. As far as packing the bearings I don't think so, once they start making noise the bearing:are toast. At that price you could get 5 lug conversion hubs....good ones too, with bearings.

I already have 5 lug hubs. I guess I just need to replace them.

Look through some fo these, some should work. Places should have just the bearing and not the whole hub for sale.

Oh that's right your s14. I would try another store or maybe one of the sponsored sights here because you should be able to get just the bearings. 140 for one just sounds crazy. I bet the dealer has them cheaper.

I just did wheel bearings for my s13 and got a pair of them for $85, they where timken rebrand of NSK.

On s14 I don't think your suppose to change the wheel bearings. I don't even think there are part numbers for s14 wheel bearings cause if you look up OEM parts its says to replace the HUB assembly.

Yeah, the FSM says to replace the hub. I will check it out tomorrow and see what I can do. They are just making a loud growl as I drive, but should have it another year before I tear the car down. I am doing a brake swap, so I wanted to be proactive if possible.

how did your bearings make out after a year? Mine is making the same noise and I really dont want to spend the money for new hubs especially if I could have 5 lug for almost the same price plus money is tight right now.
