I just bought an S14 that needs new pads and rotors in the front so I'm going to go ahead and do Z32 300zx front calipers while I'm in there. There is SO much info out there on the brake swap that I'm left with a few questions.

1) Am I better off buying everything complete in a "kit" from a vendor? If I spend:

$300 - Calipers (here or ebay)$75 - pads (Hawk HPS)$45 - brake lines (spl)$150 - Rotors$50? - Z master cyl. (which one do I need?)

So buying everything seperate comes close to $600 (maybe I could find everything cheaper if I tried really hard) And most kits will be around $500-600 plus however much the Master Cylinder cost me... what do you guys think?

I just changed my friends rotors today and put new brakes pads on.Rotor cost 50-60 and pads were about 30.Cost $100 for new system.Rotors will last for long time and pads will last him for a good while.Probably be cheaper to dues this now and then go to junkyards searching for the 300zx parts.IMO

Thanks for the replies, especially the link. I was searching for anything that had to do with 300zx brakes, not sure how I missed that thread.

I checked and the rotors are still good for a while... I'm just gonna do the pads for now, since there are several other things that need attention on the car.
