replacing foglights?

im planning to replace my foglights w/ some sylvania h6054's tomorrow, today i found out my light is not even on, when i drive with the low beams on, WTH. but my high beams really work great. I was wondering how do i change the s13 popup foglights, i really want to learn how to, this is my first car and i dont wanna f* up anything, or do something to a relay.

everyones gotta learn, but um, please if you can help me out show me step by step how i do this, thanks!

btw, does anyone have any feedback about sylvania fog lights for the s13?

If you mean your headlights, then check all the usual suspects:

Item in question - in this case, the headlamp itself. Swap for a known good light and see if it works

Connector - for corrosion, connection and condition

Fuses/relays - dunno about this problem but sometimes obvious problems are caused by not-so-obvious problems.

Switch - for corrosion and operation.

^If you don't check those in that particular order, at least check the switch LAST. It's the biggest PITA to check out of all the rest.

The switch should be screwed to the steering column assembly with a few phillips type screws (+). To clean the switch, you'll need to open the unit itself with some small slender tools (think eyeglass repair kit-type flat-head screwdrivers) and physically clean all the little prongs inside. Use electrical contact cleaner or something comparable and a soft/old toothbrush to gently scrub the corrosion off.

I had the same problem and this is what it turned out to be for me.
